Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Wkly15%Lead the planning and problem solving with team members, district staff, and staff at school sites to support student parents and expecting student parents in driving positive health outcomes to increase school participation and ensure student parents are engaged in school and have a clear plan for the future grounded in strong culturally responsive mental health and wellness practices. The coordinator establishes and is responsible for MTSS, PBIS strategy, collaborates with other district leaders, families, and students to assist in overcoming barriers to school engagement and success by addressing risk, protective factors, health, and social wellbeing for pregnant and parenting students.
Daily35%Provide oversight and management for the team’s advocacy, mentoring, and interventions to the pregnant and parenting students program and their families. Collect, analyze, and report data specific to the physical and social emotional wellbeing, home visits and communication between student, family, and school staff. Report student attendance and academic progress, and refer to community resources as necessary to promote student parents health and engagement in school and self-sufficiency skills.
Daily10%Facilitate and lead an advisory council with district staff, community health partners, career, and wellness leaders to develop district and school level implementation plans for; healthcare, engagement, attendance, academic supports, advocacy, and mentor circles to ensure success for young parents.
Qrtly10%Support and collaborate with district leaders to ensure student parents have access to transportation, career development services in areas of internship, job placement, resume preparation, interviewing skills, job market information, and job success practices, including in-person, email, and telephone contact, serving both daytime and evening students.
Wkly15%Establish relationships with community health and family social services agencies to develop and implement programs and strategies related to teen parent success and outreach to school staff, district staff, and community resources leading to a healthy, more supportive, welcoming school culture and climate for young parents.
Wkly10%Responsible for management and oversight of team data reporting, identifying and establishing healthcare and wellness partnerships. Establish team goals, collect and monitor data related to case management with students, record data in Infinite Campus. Develop and deliver a monthly newsletter, and evaluate effectiveness of the program by producing an annual impact report.
