Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily20%Responsible for increasing CLDE student achievement by collaborating with CLDE teachers leaders, CLDE staff, building and district administrators, Instructional Coordinators, and Teacher Coaches to develop their understanding of effective CLDE programs and instructional techniques. Responsible for assisting the CLDE director in monitoring and evaluating instructional programs developed for English language learners. This position serves as a facilitator in matters pertaining to CLDE services within each assigned school/program.
Daily20%Develop CLDE teacher leader understandings of effective CLDE programs and techniques through one-on-one consultation and ongoing teacher leader professional development. Support CLDE teacher leader with building school wide capacity of best practices for English learners through co-planning/teaching, developing a demonstration classroom, planning and facilitating professional development, collaboration with building leadership and district personnel.
Daily20%Develop teacher understanding of appropriate second language instruction through professional development, one-on-one consultation, curriculum development, planning, assessment and evaluation of English language learners. This includes planning and facilitating ongoing professional development for CLDE staff, new teachers, regular education teachers and paraprofessionals.
Wkly5%Collaborate with building leadership and staff to develop knowledge about the impact of CLDE learners on building programs, compliance, program implementation, staffing, and review of student programs.
Wkly5%Assists and reviews all processes of identification, assessment, placement, redesignation, and exiting criteria for English learners.
Wkly5%Collect and analyze data on various program models and schools by using state and district formative and summative data to compare effectiveness of program models.
Wkly5%Provide integrated and comprehensive ELA support to schools by collaborating with IC, TC and District support staff to develop CLDE demonstration classrooms or demonstration videos and by co-planning and co-facilitating building and district professional development.
Wkly5%Maintain professional skills and knowledge of CLDE issues and techniques by attending district meetings, conferences, researching, networking, maintaining subscriptions, reading and through continuing education.
Mnthly5%Support IC, TC and classroom teachers' knowledge of effective CLDE practices in all content areas and sheltered instruction by meeting in small groups, one-on-one consultation and professional development.
Mnthly5%Assist building leadership and staff with the interviewing and hiring process of CLDE staff.
Daily5%Perform other duties as assigned.
