Summary:
Responsible for the nutritional integrity of the department, by controlling, entering and ensuring all data entered into department software, menu planning and nutrition analysis is accurate, timely and complete. Perform advance data entry work with the inventory management system by entering, verifying, researching, correcting and retrieving information on food and non-food items.

Responsible for verifying purchasers accurate input and making corrections as needed of all products in Inventory Management System and Nutrition Software. This includes but is not limited to menu and a la carte product ingredients, serving size, pack size and other nutritional and product information. Update food and non-food product information into the department software program.

Build and analyze menus in software system provided by the Chef that meet meal pattern and nutritional analysis requirements. Effectively communicate recommendations to the department leadership to remain compliant with USDA regulations. Ensure menus meet all U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) regulation and standards.

Monitor and maintain inventory in the central warehouse

Input and maintain standardized recipes and productions records in department software system. Distribute information to school managers, as needed.

Responsible for updating and maintaining software and website with accurate and up to date menu and nutritional information.

Responsible for all special dietary needs to include coordinating with kitchen managers, nurses, parents, and students and development of any special menus.

Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal (USDA), state (Department of Education and Department of Human Services), county and district regulations relating to Child Nutrition Programs.

Supervise, evaluate, coach and train Technician and Buyer.

Audit, coordinate and implement all additional meal programs: Summer Food Service, After School Snack Program, Supper, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, Farm to School, Catering, School Gardens, We Don’t Waste, recycling, composting, etc.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Institutional Food Service Management Nutrition required. Master's degree or Registered Dietician preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of experience in school food service management software. Nutritional analysis preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER:

Excellent oral and written communication and proficiency in software skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook are required. Child Nutrition Program knowledge and skills of all phases of school food service operation management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Valid driver's license. School Nutrition Association (SNA) credentialing as a School Nutrition Specialist required within two years' employment.
